In Australia

Our exchange home in Bateman's Bay has the added attraction of a bird feeding station on the front deck. Each day we fill the dish with wild bird seed and then sit and watch who arrives. The kookaburras, however, prefer raw ground beef. With great trepidation, we tried feeding them from our hand (their bills are long and pointed!). No problem! The deck is also visited by sulphur crested cockatiels, white headed pigeons, roseate parrots, and larikeets.
